Privacy Policy
How Voice Analyzer handles your recordings and your account. Last updated 18 August 2026.
Short version: we upload the clip you record so the server can measure it, we keep your results so you can see progress, and the recording attached to your account is deleted after 30 days. We also keep a de-identified copy of successful recordings — stripped of your account and not traceable back to you — to improve the accuracy of the analysis; that copy outlives both the 30-day cleanup and account deletion (§4). Recordings from attempts that don't produce a result are never stored at all. If you no longer want to take part, you can delete your account at any time — with a 7-working-day window to change your mind (§5).
1. What we collect, and why
| Data | Why | Stored? |
|---|---|---|
| Your recording (the few seconds of speech you record) | Uploaded to our server and measured — pitch, resonance, and related acoustic properties — to produce your result. | Yes, if the analysis succeeds — 30 days under your account, plus a de-identified copy (§4) |
| Your result (the acoustic measurements and the time of the session) | So you can see your progress over time, and so we can improve the accuracy of the analysis. | Yes — kept in your history until you delete your account |
| Your Google account (email address and Google's account identifier) | Only to sign you in and attach results to you. We never receive or handle your Google password. | Yes — until you delete your account |
| A session token (stored in your browser) | To keep you signed in between visits. Signing out invalidates it on the server. | In your browser, plus a one-way hash on our server |
We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or any third-party tracking on this site.
2. Where it is stored
- Recordings and results are stored on Google Cloud infrastructure (Cloud Storage and Cloud SQL),
in the United States (region
us-central1). Google acts as our hosting provider and protects the data with its platform security; it does not use your recordings for its own purposes. - All traffic between your browser and our server is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Your session token is stored on our server only as a one-way hash, and can be revoked server-side at any time.
3. How long we keep it
- Recordings: 30 days. An automatic daily cleanup permanently deletes the audio 30 days after the session that produced it.
- Results: kept in your history. The measurements stay after the recording is gone, so your progress chart keeps its full history. They are deleted when you delete your account.
- Unsuccessful attempts: never stored. If a recording is rejected as non-speech, blocked on quality, or fails to analyze, the audio is processed in memory, discarded immediately, and never written to storage.
- The de-identified copy is the exception to both of the above — see §4. It is kept because it is no longer linked to you, and it is what lets the analysis keep getting more accurate.
4. Who we share it with
- We do not sell, rent, or hand your recordings or personal information to any third party.
- Your recordings are used for this tool's analysis and for improving that analysis — nothing else.
- De-identified recordings are used to improve the model. Recordings you submit for a voice card will be de-identified and used to improve our analysis model. The copy is separated from your account at the moment it is made: it carries no email, no account identifier and no reverse lookup — only an irreversible grouping hash — so it can no longer be traced back to you. Because that copy is no longer personal information, it is not removed by the 30-day cleanup, and not removed when you delete your account. It is used only to improve the accuracy of the analysis and is never sold, published, or provided to anyone outside this project.
- If you no longer want to take part, you can delete your account at any time. Deleting your account stops any further recordings of yours from being used this way. It comes with a 7-working-day window in which you can change your mind and cancel the deletion; if you don't cancel, your account is deleted at the end of that window. See §5 for exactly what deletion removes.
- Google Cloud provides the underlying hosting; Google Sign-In provides authentication.
5. Your choices
- Delete your account — this is how you stop taking part. Use “Delete account” in the app. Your account then enters a 7-working-day hold: it is frozen, analysis is disabled, and you can change your mind and cancel the deletion at any point during that window. If you don't cancel, at the end of those 7 working days the system permanently deletes all of your recordings, results, and your account. This cannot be undone. From that point on, nothing further of yours is recorded, stored, or used. What it does not reach are the de-identified copies described in §4 — those are already separated from your account and cannot be identified as yours, so there is no way to single them out and remove them.
- Sign out at any time — that revokes the session on the server.
- Withdraw microphone access in your browser's site settings. The recording features stop working without it; nothing else about your account changes.
- Ask us directly. You can also request access to, or deletion of, your data using the contact details below.
